Delicious Cinnamon Rolls without Yeast (from scratch)

Fill your house up with the warm and delicious smell of homemade cinnamon rolls! Use my recipe to make the best homemade cinnamon rolls without needing to use yeast! We will be using self rising flour in lieu of yeast. My recipe is easy and quick to get you in and out of the kitchen fast to enjoy quality time with the family, but still giving you gooey and perfect cinnamon rolls!

Traditional cinnamon roll recipes will require you to use yeast. Yeast is a common ingredient that is found in dough as a leavening agent. Yeast eats sugars and starches in the dough mixture, and then releases gas which causes dough to rise and creates air pockets in the dough. Yeast takes about half an hour to two hours to rise, depending on the type of yeast. Factors such as type of yeast and temperature of environment effects the outcome of your dough in terms of how much it rises or if it rises at all. These factors are why I consider baking with yeast difficult.

My recipe uses self rising flour instead of yeast so you will not have to worry about the dough not turning out right! This self rising flour for cinnamon roll recipe makes it stress free to make your homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch in no time!

Cinnamon rolls are perfect for the holidays because the cinnamon aroma will fill up your house as it’s baking in the oven. There is not a single person I know that does not enjoy warm and gooey cinnamon rolls, so give this recipe a try at your next Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving meal!

Step 4

Place your dough onto a clean working space. I placed a non-stick silicon baking mat on my kitchen table to put my dough onto. Lightly sprinkle and coat the baking mat with self rising flour. Use a rolling pin to roll and flatten out your dough to be 1/4″ thick. Try to roll the dough out close to an elongated shape.
