What is Thai Tea?
Thai tea is a drink that originated from Thailand but is now popular across the world. The tea is made from brewing Ceylon tea leaves or black tea leaves with spices like the star anise, cardamom, and crushed tamarind. When the tea is brewed in hot water, it gives it the liquid its famous bright orange amber color. Dairy milk or coconut milk and sweetener, such as condense milk or sugar, is then added to the tea to make the famous Thai tea drink. Thai tea has abundance amount of caffeine and antioxidants due to the tea leaves and collection of spices.
Adding Milk to Tea?
The idea of adding milk to tea is an old tradition found all over the world. Even Britains are a fan of adding milk to tea. According to The Sun, a UK News Company, the concept of adding milk to tea can be traced back to the 18th century. People would pour milk into hot tea to prevent the hot tea from cracking the delicate tea cups. There are also theories that milk would prevent the fine china tea cups of the wealthy from staining as well as adding milk to poor quality tea would made it taste better. I personally love milk with tea because it adds the creamy rich taste to tea and does not overpower or remove the tea flavor.
Making Ice Cream with a Blender
You will be using a blender for this easy ice cream recipe. I recommend using a quality powder blender, but a regular blender will work. Powder blenders are designed to maintain torque and cool temperature so it can handle tough ingredients. It is designed to give the you the smoothest texture when blending ingredients, so soups, smoothies, and ice cream. A brand of high performance powder blender that I recommend is the Vitamix. I own one myself. The Vitamix is easy to clean, gives the smoothest texture to anything I blend, and has great warranty.
